Desert Bronze Bowie
This bowie was made at the request of a customer, specifically to be a conversation piece in his office. The blade is Laminated steel, forged to shape for a very thin exposed core along the cutting edge. The fittings are Damascus with bronze spacers. Handle is desert ironwood with three domed-head bronze pins.
The box is inspired by the kind of thing a piece like this would have been carried in 150 years ago. Rustic, yet rugged. Something that would fit in your saddlebags. The box is made from local barn lumber. The nails are antique wrought iron nails I salvaged from a 150 year-old church, and the box latch I hand-forge for this box.
