L.S. Straight Camp
A straight bladed camp knife, forged to very close to shape from a leaf spring (5160) with only the least amount ground to final shape and hand finished.
The handle material is white oak the timber of the first Roman Catholic Church in Bristol, Virginia. During some remodeling about 10 years ago, the board was discarded and I've been saving it ever since. The dark area shows the original sawmill cuts and age from more than 170 years. The rest of the handle is sanded smooth and finished in oil and wax.
The sheath is a deep pouch style made with woodgrain textured leather.
Blade is 9.1" long and 14.5" overall.
