Forged Nica Fighter

This piece is all about understated elegance, with an attempt at crisp lines and subtle curves, with the ornamentation stark in its absence.

The forged blade of 80CRV2 is left as-forged save for the hand-finishes on the perimeter edges - the coarse and the fine held apart by crisp lines of demarcation. The mild steel guard is blended from all 4 sides into the Nicaraguan Lignum Vitae handle, a gift from my good friend Mike from deibertknives.com. Lignum Vitae is one of the densest woods on earth, and is so waxy that the wood does not readily accept any finishes, and actually feels wax-coated to the touch. 

The low-ride sheath is offered without decoration or ornamentation because it's often the hardest way to execute leather and draws attention again to the elegance of simplicity.
