Combat #4, Frame Handle
$ 1,400.00
A further evolution of my classic Combat #4. The blade and handle profile have been tweaked just a tad, mostly in the handle to make it easier to use with gloves. But the biggest change is in the handle construction. The blade has a hidden tang with the handle built in a frame method. This results in a blade that is surprisingly light, with an all-composite handle.
The blade is my laminated 410 stainless over an 52100 core with an aggressive lamination line. Blade bevels are ground with a hollow saber-style grind that is part hollow grind and part fuller. The secondary bevel is not the sharpening bevel, but rather the convex cutting edge just as it would be on a flat ground blade. This style of grind (which I think looks pretty cool), makes the blade lighter, reduces drag, and really highlights the laminated core. Blade bevels are satin polished with forge texture remaining at the spine.
The black canvas micarta frame handle completely encases the hidden tang making the handle both light and comfortable.
The sheath is my semi-pouch model, set up for right hand carry.
Blade length 5.25", overall 10.75"
